Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is Nurse as well as Tom Bell, a television news director. Kristen is Polish (mother's) and German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen was already a talented entertainer in the early stages. When she was in 1992, she was the first to go to an audition. The audition was for an appearance of Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell was contacted by an agent by her mother before the age of 13 and was subsequently cast as a model in advertisements on television and newspapers. Now, Bell also begins classes in acting for herself. Bell was credited with a minor performance as a character Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a member of the music and drama club of Shrine Catholic High School. In her school's show of The Wizard of Oz, Bell was chosen to play Dorothy. After graduation Bell made the move to New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in which she was a musical theater student. Bell, who graduated in 2001, decided to leave her studies at the university to play the role Becky on Tom Sawyer. Also in 2001 that Bell made her first appearance in a movie that had been credited, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in has been cut out and the credits only display her. Bell made an appearance with Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
